Child Safety Standards & CSAE Policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026 · Applies to Bindr: Bisexual & LGBTQ Dating (Android, package com.bindrdating.bindr, published on Google Play by Bindr Dating), Bindr: Bisexual Dating on the Apple App Store, and the Bindr website at bindr.dating and bindr.co (together, “Bindr” or the “Platform”), all operated by Bindr Inc.
Our commitment
Bindr has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Bindr is an adults-only dating platform, and no one under 18 may use it for any reason. We are committed to preventing, detecting and removing CSAE from Bindr, to reporting it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other appropriate authorities, and to cooperating with law enforcement. These standards form part of the Bindr Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and they are informed by the Tech Coalition’s industry child safety standards.
What is prohibited (CSAE)
The following are strictly prohibited on Bindr, in every feature (profiles, photos, usernames, bios, the feed, posts, comments, messages, message requests and anything linked from Bindr). There are no exceptions, including for content that is fictional, drawn, AI-generated, or presented as “role play”:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video or other content that depicts a minor (anyone under 18) in sexually explicit conduct, or that sexualizes a minor, including computer-generated, edited or AI-generated imagery.
- Sexualization of minors: content, captions, usernames or profiles that present a minor in a sexual way, or that present an adult as a minor in a sexual context.
- Grooming: contacting, befriending or building trust with a minor for sexual purposes, or any attempt to do so.
- Sextortion and coercion: threatening, blackmailing or pressuring a minor to produce sexual content or engage in sexual activity.
- Trafficking and commercial exploitation: advertising, soliciting or facilitating any sexual activity involving a minor, including travel for that purpose.
- Seeking or sharing access: requesting, offering, linking to, trading or describing where to obtain CSAM or minors, in any form or coded language.
- Underage use: creating or using a Bindr account while under 18, or helping a minor do so.
Any of the above results in immediate and permanent removal from Bindr, preservation of the relevant account data, and a report to NCMEC and/or law enforcement where required or appropriate.
Adults only: age requirements and enforcement
- 18+ only. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to create or use a Bindr account. Every user confirms this during sign-up and agrees to our Community Guidelines before using the Platform.
- Age signals and verification. Bindr collects date of birth at sign-up, runs automated and human review of profile photos and text, and offers live selfie photo verification. Where there is any doubt about a user’s age we may require additional verification, such as a live selfie check or government-issued ID, and we suspend the account until it is resolved.
- Removal. Accounts we determine belong to a minor are permanently removed, and we take reasonable steps to stop the same person from returning.
- No exceptions for “adult” claims. Content that sexualizes a person who is, or is presented as, under 18 is removed even if the person is claimed to be an adult.
How to report a concern, including from inside the app
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first (911 in the United States). Then report to us. You can report without leaving the Bindr app:
- Report a profile or conversation: open any profile and scroll to the bottom to find Block and Report; in a conversation, tap the ⋮ menu at the top and choose Report. Select a reason such as Underage user or child safety concern, add details and submit.
- Report a safety concern from Settings: go to Settings → Support → Report a Safety Concern, choose a category such as Child safety concern or Underage user, optionally enter the username involved, describe what happened and submit. This form is available to every signed-in user, including accounts that have not yet subscribed or verified, from the Account menu on those screens.
- On the website: use the Report option on any profile at bindr.dating, or the contact form at bindr.dating/contact.
- By email: support@bindr.dating for any report, or the child safety point of contact below for CSAE concerns. Please do not attach or forward suspected CSAM; describe it and give us the username or link.
You do not need to be the person affected to report, reports are confidential, and we never tell the reported account who reported them. Submitting knowingly false reports to harass another user is itself a violation of our Community Guidelines.
How we handle CSAM and child safety reports
- Priority human review. Reports in the child safety categories are routed to our safety team ahead of all other reports and reviewed by a trained person, not only by automated systems.
- Detection. We use automated moderation of uploaded photos and profile text, photo verification against the account’s own images, and manual review queues to detect prohibited content and underage accounts, including content users have not reported.
- Removal. When we obtain actual knowledge of apparent CSAM or CSAE, we remove the content and permanently ban the account immediately. We do not wait for a user report.
- Preservation and reporting. Apparent CSAM is reported to the NCMEC CyberTipline as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and the associated account and content data are preserved for the period the law requires so that it is available to law enforcement. Where a report concerns a user outside the United States we also report to, or cooperate with, the relevant national authority or hotline.
- Related accounts. We look for and act on other accounts connected to a confirmed violation, including by device, payment and contact signals.
- No reinstatement. Accounts removed for CSAE are never restored, and memberships never transfer to a new account.
- Staff. Team members who handle these reports receive guidance on identifying CSAE, on handling the material lawfully and on their own wellbeing. Access to reported material is limited to the people who need it.
Law enforcement and legal compliance
Bindr complies with the child safety laws that apply to us, including United States federal law on the reporting of apparent child sexual abuse material (18 U.S.C. §§ 2258A–2258B), the REPORT Act, and the online safety laws of the other regions where Bindr is offered. We respond to lawful requests from law enforcement and will disclose information without a request where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent imminent harm to a child. Our process for law enforcement, including emergency requests and preservation holds, is published at bindr.dating/law-enforcement (legal@bindr.dating).
We review these standards at least annually and whenever the law or our product changes, and we keep this page and our app store declarations in step with each other.
